Job Description:

As a transport engineer you will be an integral member of an established team. You will play an important role in delivering a wide range of high-profile traffic engineering projects. The role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the traffic engineering field.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Involvement in a range of challenging traffic engineering schemes and transport studies
  • Assisting feasibility studies, scheme assessment, public consultation and statutory procedures
  • Undertaking elements of projects from instruction through to completion including the preparation of drawings using AutoCAD
  • Preparation of technical feasibility reports
  • Liaison with other Mott MacDonald teams, specialists and other third parties
  • Working with senior team members in undertaking estimating, cost reporting and forecasting for projects and being involved in the tendering process for new work

Candidate Specification:

You must have a degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related subject. You should be enthusiastic to undertake training leading to chartership, which we will support you to do.

You must also have:

  • Experience in the successful delivery of traffic engineering projects
  • Dedicated to the delivery of projects and the development of the business as a whole
  • Passionate about solving complex problems and relish identifying new innovative solutions
  • Able to apply good analytical and numeric skills to project work
  • Have some experience in the use of AutoCAD
  • You must be willing to travel and spend time abroad if the project requires
  • Preferably have some experience in the use of GIS software
