1. Build Release and Configuration Operations - Technical Expert
Activation, MAC's and Deactivation of Customers/application on networks and security platforms (the activation and configuration)
a. Implementation of change requests as per the supplied Change Implementation Plan or Method of Procedure provided by Telstra (MOP).
b. Adhering to network design and subject to the required approvals from Telstra.
2. Change implementation
a. Reviewing and assessing the Change Implementation Plan included within a Change Request to ascertain skill level required for implementation.
b. Assessing the Change Request for accuracy and completeness.
c. Driving compliance to change management policy and process.
d. Analysis of change to assess any possible unplanned impacts.
e. Ensuring the Change Implementation Plan or MOP.

ii. implementation steps
iii. backout steps
iv. timings
f. Ensuring the correct categorization of change activity based on impact has been adhered to.
g. Determining lead times and level of review required.
h. Obtaining approval of change via "peer" review by the Telstra NIO delivery team.
i. Notification to Level 2 of change activity and/ or planned outages.
j. Executing the change as per the Change Implementation Plan or MOP and within Telstra's change management policy.
k. Reviewing and closure of Change Request according to the outcome of the implementation (i.e. successful,completed with problems, unsuccessful).
l. Accurate and detailed change ticket updates as tickets progress through queue so the Customer is aware of progress.

2.Security release and configuration management -Technical Expert:

1. Activation, MAC's and Deactivation of customers on security platforms (firewalls etc) (the activation and configuration)
a. Implementation of change requests as per the supplied Change Implementation Plan or method Of procedure provided by Telstra (MOP)
b. Implementation of security policy design sheets using element manager and notification to onshore team of completion for verification
c. Adhering to network design and subject to the required approvals from Telstra.
2. Change Implementation
a. reviewing and assessing the Change Implementation Plan included within a Change Request to ascertain skill level required for implementation
b. assessing the Change Request for accuracy and completeness
c. driving compliance to change management policy and process
d. analysis of change to assess any possible unplanned impacts
e. ensuring the Change Implementation Plan or MOP
i. pre and post testing phase
ii. implementation steps
iii. back-out steps
iv. timings
f. ensuring the correct categorisation of change activity based on impact has been adhered to

Responsibilities:

* Contribute to achievement of group's BAU KPIs
* Identify opportunities for business process improvements
* Implementing changes as per instructions
* Execute routines on a regular basis
* Assisting in platform performance/health reviews
* Resolve escalated incidents in a timely and professional manner
* Following NIO problem management processes and raise problem tickets and known error tickets
* Complete ongoing acceptance activity associated with new applications/functionality
* Complete assigned ongoing repeatable tasks such as reporting and ongoing data analysis
* Provide 3rd Level escalated Complex Incident resolution in the appropriate technologies

Experience/Qualifications/Competencies:

Release and Configuration Operations - Technical Expert:
* 35 years experience in Data Centre Network/Security Design or Operations - Mandatory
* Industry certifications in switching/routing such as Cisco CCIE, F5, JNCIP, CCSE, JNCIPSEC or CCNPSecurity - Mandatory
* Expert knowledge of change management and change best practice processes - Mandatory
* Understanding of common networking and routing protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, IPsec, SSL, HTTP, FTP, SSH, BGP with multiple VRs/VRFs, VLANs, MPLS, VPLS, etc) - Mandatory
* Very Strong F5 experience; LTM GTM - Mandatory
* Alteon/Radware experience - Mandatory
* Cisco CCNP or similar experience -- CatOS& IOS - Mandatory
* Firewall & Security Design/Operation Juniper Netscreen (ScreenOS), SRX (Junos), IDS, SSL, Checkpoint & VPN experience - Mandatory
* Data Centre provisioning and analysis systems experience desired - Preferred
* Experience with virtualisation and virtualised environments (e.g. VMware, Virtual Box, HyperV) favourable - Preferred
* Knowledge of IPv6 is desirable - Preferred
* Cacti and other network monitoring tools - Preferred
* 23 years experience in Unix systems administration, experience with Solaris, SUSE and FreeBSD distributions also Unix scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Awk, etc) - Preferred
* Experience with network monitoring tool such as Xymon and Hobbit - Preferred
* Experience with security audit, vulnerability testing and data forensics -Preferred
* General network hosting lifecycle, capacity, design and architecture across multiple vendor infrastructure--Preferred

Security release and configuration management -- Technical Expert
* 35 years experience in a security operations covering firewall policy configuration, web filtering, IDS/IPS and DDoS -- Mandatory
* Industry certifications in Firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Juniper SSG/VSYS & SRX, Bluecoat Proxy, Checkpoint Gaia/Splat/IPSO -- Mandatory
* Expert knowledge of change management and change best practice processes Mandatory
* Understanding of common networking and routing protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, IPsec, SSL, HTTP, FTP, SSH, BGP with multiple VRs/VRFs, VLANs, MPLS, VPLS, etc) Mandatory
* Very Strong F5 experience; LTM GTM Preferred
* Alteon/Radware experience -- Preferred
* Cisco CCNA or similar experience -- CatOS& IOS -- Mandatory
