Roles & responsibilities:
In the role of Storage Level 3 engineer, this individual will be responsible for debug escalated Customer reported problems and provide immediate resolution. This role involve working closely with development to get the fix developed for the customer and unit test the code. This role require deeper storage functional and debugging skills to resolve customer issues in complex datacenter design. This role involve closed interaction with customer , account teams , Development and level 2 support in problem determination to deal with customer escalations. This role expect a close dealing with customer through emails , calls or onsite visits to triage technical issues. This individual is responsible to provide insight and feedback regarding client environment to development organization to enhance the product. So overall this individual is responsible for problem identification, troubleshooting, diagnostics and fix strategy through resolution.
Job Skills Required
A) Technical Skills
8 years of data center product development/support Experience.
Deep Technical skills in Block Storage Domain. Knowledge in virtualization is desired.
Knowledge on SCSI Protocol. Comfortable with any of the transport protocol (FC/FCoE/iSCSI)
Experience in Performance Analysis and Tuning storage subsystems.
Advanced knowledge of data center (Storage/Server/Networking).
Strong decision making and problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
Advanced C programming, Operating system internals.
Familiarity with Host OS virtualization ( VMware , MS Hyper-V )
B) Soft skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good written/verbal communication skills to crisply and accurately report status.
- Experience working with Global teams.
- Good technical leadership skills to mentor new team members.
This role requires 8-10 years of industry experience in product Level 3 support in storage Domain. S/He should have BE in Computer Science and Electronics and preferably MS in Computer Science with proven track record of Customer escalation technical support.
