Assess the current state of our internal tools and their effective use within the department.
Identify gaps in our tool-sets and our systems management capabilities.
Work directly with the Cloud operations and Change execution teams to identify automation opportunities and operational effectiveness opportunities.
Stay current on industry trends and identify strategic IT trends and ideas to further improve our infrastructure and our hosted solutions.
Support of our Backup environment globally
Design, Administrate and Troubleshoot across Networker, Data Domain, TSM and other backup solutions.
Design and provision of storage across EMC VMAX, VNX, NetApp, IBM storage solutions to support database and virtualization solutions would be added advantage.
Resolution, analysis and root cause analysis for backup based issues within all production and non-production environments
Centralized configuration and capacity management for all backup solutions across the company
Maintain technical documentation
Primarily responsible for providing top-level technical support, including problem resolution, technical change implementation, telephone and one-on-one technical support within defined service level agreements for clients.
Provide innovative technical solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
Provide design, implementation, and technical support services and consulting to Managed Services clients to meet their business needs.
Provide detailed and effective communication to internal and external customers.
Clearly and concisely articulate problems and solutions for issues to clients both over the phone, via e-mail and in person.
Member of on-call rotation to provide 24 X 7 Support to critical systems and ensure availability objectives are met.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
5 to 7 years of experience working as a system administrator, network engineer, or related position with experience across complete IT industry life-cycle covering pre-sales, consulting, architecture, and design.
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable. Other Required Qualifications
Capable of resolving critical issues in a time sensitive manner, cognizant of requisite service levels.
History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the customers while meeting deadlines.
