EMC Storage Administrator;
Technical requirement for 'EMC - ECC'
Hands-On with Storage monitoring domain using with storage monitoring tools (preferably EMC) like ECC, ProSphere, SCAExperience in scripting Shell, Perl, sql queries.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Management and design of storage area network, projects, and installation of new devices, systems and on-going maintenance of the infrastructure.
Provide implementation and configuration support
Performance tuning and troubleshooting
Provide off-hour support as well as 24x7 supports when necessary.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software deployed the infrastructure
Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
Capacity planning and performance optimization of deployed solutions
Configure and administer Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage and associated components
Should be well versed with EMC VPLEX, Clarion, DMX
Configure and administer Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components; including Fiber Channel switch administration
Solid knowledge of Fiber Channel SANs infrastructures including fabric architecture, zoning, LUN security, switches, directors and routers.
Exposure to De-duplication for backup and archiving of data storage
Configure and administer data restore and disaster recovery
SAN experience with storage devices, block level data storage, disk arrays, tape libraries, optical jukeboxes, file systems, etc.
Configure and administer data backup clients and servers
Maintain storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocation, and change management
Setup procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e. Windows, UNIX, and Linux)
Troubleshoot and fix storage issues
Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
Storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components
Document the policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies
Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage
