Primary responsibilities would include maintaining the production environment in the Z/os Tivoli suite of applications as well as ongoing maintenance/enhancements.The incumbent will be expected to work independently to interact with external teams to identify monitoring/automated solutions.Position is responsible for managing multiple Incident and Problem records and expected to report on these statuses to management on a consistent basis.As a senior member of the team the individual would also be responsible for mentoring of other members on the Tivoli toolset under our current administration as well as providing a leadership role to those members when management is unavailable.The Systems Management Analyst (Mainframe) report to the IT Manager of Monitoring Tool Services and is responsible for:
Day to day activities including production support, enhancements and rollouts.
Management\Monitoring and Support of the TEP interface used by the Z/OS tools for monitoring and alerting purposes.This would include setting up and maintaining views within the TEP.
Ensuring documentation and training guides are up to date, conducting training sessions with frontline/junior members as required.
Open PMRs with the appropriate team for reporting and resolution of issues.This may include participating in meetings with to discuss any concerns.
Review of existing processes and make recommendations on improvement processes.
Provide direction and mentoringto junior staff members
Provide after hours on-call support as part of the domain rotation.
Provide escalation and second level support to on-call staff.
Accountable foraspects of Identifying and developing process improvement opportunities
Design and develop automation solutions for major Z/OS components such as IMS, Cics and Db2
Strong knowledge of Z/OS platforms
Strong Knowledge of Tivoli Netview for Z/OS
Sound Knowledge of Rexx programming language
Knowledge of the Tivoli Omegamon Suite of Tools.
Experience with Tivoli System Automation would be an asset
Knowledge of IMS, Cics and Db2 would also be an asset
Must have ability to learn new technologies and programming languages as necessary
