Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance of Hardware and Software for non-disruptive services of Telecom including maintenance activities on the customer site.
Work with several interfaces in organization like CL,T4,R&D,CE, PMs, Deployment
Daily job includes handling of emergency/Down time case escalated by lower levels and providing expert technical support for ongoing projects.
Participate in 24x7 on call rotation.
Expert level support for system malfunctions, installation activities, including configuration problems, installation related problems, and post-installation reconfiguration.
Handling/investigating complex issues, work closely with R&D, System Engineers for bug raise and fixes.
Act as a product expert for lower level teams
Participate in the on-site system integration, expansion activities and upgrade/update handling
Approve/write documentation such as Method of Procedure (MOP/SOW), Trouble shooting and maintenance documents etc.
Investigate and write RCA for Emergency/Down Time events.
Provide pro-active support by resolving known issues
Customer facing; interface with customer face to face, by phone, e-mail
Ensure all KPIs including Problem Resolution time, System Availability, NPR & Customer Satisfaction
Willing to Travel(including overseas) for onsite emergencies and training/OJT
B.E in Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science.
Necessary skills and experience
4 Yrs. to 7 Yrs. in Wireless Telecom GSM / CDMA plus some experience in Value Added Services with at least 3-4 Yrs. as expert for SMSC systems
Working experience in SMSC integration/support activities in a similar environment (Voice Mail, MMS - advantage).
Knowledge of Wireless 2G/3G network architecture and its components.
On site experience of maintenance for non-disruptive services of Telecom
Knowledge in creating automation tools using scripts writing (Shell/ Perl)
Knowledge of LINUX kernel, Solaris, Clusters, SNMP,TCP/IP, storage,
Knowledge of Oracle database, SQL
Good Knowledge of area/protocols like SS7,MAP,SMPP, UCP, Sigtran, Diameter, SIP etc.
Good working knowledge on LAN network and switches CISCO, Nortel etc.
Experience in Replacement/troubleshooting of Hardware including server/Blade (IBM, HP, langley) and storage array (EMC,NetApp) will be advantage
