The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the Shipping Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the day to day operations of the Shipping Department.
Oversees and supervises the shipping personnel in the pulling, staging, loading and securing of cargo.
Responsible for contacting local trucking companies and advising them where and when to pick up and deliver containers.
Completes and maintains documentation of shipped cargo.
Forwards documents to the account executive for preparation of transit documents.
Receives shipping documents from account executive.
Affixes any required hazardous placards, if necessary and seals containers.
Detects and reports any non-conformities.
Provide input for safety and productivity improvements
Maintains clean, clutter-free working environment
Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents.
Operates a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned by warehouse manager.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
1 to 3 years of related experience
Forklift and HAZMAT certification preferred
Duties may require exerting up to 70 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
3-5 years of Forklift Experience.
Ability to operate in warehouse environment
Detail oriented with ability to carry out instructions and processes
Self managing and pro-active
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Export packing experience a plus
English is the principal language for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
Ability to operate computer equipment, Outlook, Word, Excel
Knowledge of C2C system preferred.
