Description of Duties :
The successful candidate will supervise a staff primarily composed of a resident engineer, office engineer and inspection staff for rail and transit projects in the New York Metro Area. The candidate will apply a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized. Candidate must become thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations and technical aspects of the project. In addition to construction supervision, the Candidate is also responsible for field administration, procurement, and field engineering. Provides and presents construct-ability reviews to client. Directs and reviews the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities. Determines and reviews budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Manages and reviews the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals. Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project. Prepares and/or reviews cost and risk analyses and extra work claims for the client. Will be the primary contact and required to maintain a strong client relationship. A critical component to ensuring the project is performed to the standard safety and quality assurance requirements for the client. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Previous Safety/Construction Management
experience working with public agencies on rail or transit projects.
Should have experience with overseeing rail or transit projects for a Safety Management perspective.
Minimum of 20+ years' relevant experience in the infrastructure engineering industry related to Safety.
Education Required A Bachelors Degree or other appropriate degree required
Good written and oral communication skills
