Job Description

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage multiple projects at both the project and the program level - that are complex in nature, involving for example, a global multi-disciplinary team, up to $1M+, 6-12+ months duration, new technology, multiple unknowns and risks
Create a strategy that encompasses the program approach and which addresses the needs of the key customer and aligns to the account strategy
Determine and coordinate the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program
Review and /or approve all deliverables that are being delivered to the customer for quality, consistency and compliance (eg. Project schedule, solution design, requirement, acceptance test plan)
Create and maintain the project deliverables including but not limited to weekly project status reports, schedule, project plan, risk plan, resource management plan, communications plan, vendor management plan, meeting minutes, actions/issues/decisions register
Regularly capture, analyze and communicate project and program-level status as well as performance and financial metrics (eg. On-time, On-budget) to various audiences (eg. executive, project team, customer) including but not limited to CPI, SPI, EV, resource utilization at each phase
Measure the KPIs of individual projects as well as the overall program
Act as mediator to achieve win-win scenarios across various stakeholders
Lead a post-mortem process for each project to ensure lessons learned are well communicated and incorporated into future projects
Support the Global Services PMO in establishing automated end-to-end project, program and portfolio management and reporting Achieve exceptional customer loyalty through consistent delivery results and communication skills

The role demands excellent judgment in:

Making decisions about the readiness for the project and program to continue to the next phase, as well as coordinating the priorities of the various projects of the program. Poor decisions could mean a potential loss of revenue, decreased customer satisfaction and market share
Identifying the right fit of skills, behaviours and leadership capabilities to foster a high performance, synergistic team in order to meet schedule, cost and quality targets
Communicating the program strategy and purpose as it relates to the overall corporate strategy to the team, stakeholders, and senior executives of the customer
Pin-pointing root causes and solutions to complex problems and inter-dependencies of other programs in a landscape that is often fast-paced, pressurized with multiple priorities
Negotiating and balancing, sometimes conflicting customers priorities and short and long-term needs with Sandvines so that both parties win
Must be willing and able to travel and work in multiple time zones
Ideally candidates will be located in or near San Francisco Bay area

Qualifications:

Demonstrated passion and an upbeat attitude in leading customer facing programs to their successful completion
A University degree plus 10+ years of progressive program/project management leadership experience and responsibility at a global telecommunications company
8+ years working with Tier 1 Carrier Service Providers as a project or program manager. Familiar with the technical terminology and environment
Proven expertise in leading program and/or projects through all the process areas while effectively managing 3rd party vendors and cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
Determined and energetic individual who is resulted oriented and high performing
PM certification, and a member in good standing, and knowledgeable about related professional standards a must
Excellent presentation skills with and to senior and executive management
Demonstrated experience in quantitative risk analysis and process, change control process, change management and communication strategies, resource management, vendor management, parametric estimating
Demonstrated experience in working with project management and ERP tools
Business development and sales experience
Well-versed in the sales cycle processes and terminology
Excellent track record in exercising good judgment through determining whats important and whats not and making sound, timely decisions
Execution and results orientation who effectively rallies the team around a common business goal, creates a sense of urgency, builds an agreed-upon plan and then drives results
Strong familiarity with software development environment and product life cycle management processes, best practices and terminology
Well developed influencing, problem-solving, collaboration and organizational skills
Position will be based in Mumbai
