Implement and maintain the Oracle database design for a large (growing to 20+ TBs) custom developed Source of Record
Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products and recommend adoption
Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities
Interface with Oracle Support as part of Build Project work
Create database objects (tables, indexes, etc.)
Design (and in some cases Write) database procedures, functions and triggers
Assist developers with database activities
Tune database queries
Help define and promote PL/SQL coding standards and best practices

Engineer Real Application Clusters (currently implemented as single node, Active Passive with plans for Active Active processing in early 2016)
Support / recommend Application tuning (connection, table, index, views, query, etc)
Use and configuration of Partitioning and Use and configuration of Advanced Compression
Golden Gate Replication for Change Data Capture
Assist with Archive/purge
Engineer system upgrades e.g. R11gR2 point releases, 12c (near future)
Develop monitoring and reporting for use in Volume Test and Production
Participate with senior members in assessing and managing non-functional system properties.
Escalates significant risks and issues to the program team and leadership.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school with a major in Computer Science or other relevant information/computer technology field
Five (5) to eight (8) years Oracle experience as part of a software development team or working as Application DBA or Architect
Experiencewith databases, especially Oracle (11g/12c) with good, hands-on knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL
Good understanding of the underlying operating system (Red Hat Linux) running on Cisco UCS with EMC VMAX storage
Good knowledge of physical database design
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
Good knowledge of Oracle security management
Good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
Good knowledge Oracle data integrity
Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
Good understanding of System DBA activities

Work with the System DBA to ensure the following are carried out per SLA and report any deviation from norms:
Consult on DB performance (transactions, waits, etc.)
Database-wide performance tuning (parameters and structural)
Provide Tier 3 DBA support for engineering escalations
Database logical and physical design and (re)architecture
Database server technology refresh
Inter-database connectivity (Oracle to MSServer, etc)
Establish/configure Data load
IRMCO compliance (database security adjustment/monitoring, regular/as-needed Infosec scanning and PEER)
Oracle databases software security patching and release upgrade
Databases backup procedures implementation and regular monitoring
Database patches and growth tracking
Database crash recovery activities
Dataguard replication for DR
Oracle components (database, etc) (re)install - upon request or on as-needed basis only
Database replication setup - upon request or on as-needed basis only
Database Inventory and license audit
Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Experience supporting both daily operations as well as development.
