1. Practice building:
Practice level strategic planning and P&L responsibility: the SM will be responsible for assessing opportunity in the industry and, in consultation with the management, preparing mid-term and annual strategic plan for the healthcare corporate advisory practice. The SM will be responsible for implementing the plan and will have practice level P&L responsibility.
PR and communication to foster industry leading reputation: The SM will be responsible for building awareness about the firm's expertise and creating industry leading reputation for the healthcare advisory practice.
Business development and engagement sourcing: As the lead resource for implementing the practice strategic plan, the SM will be responsible for sourcing advisory engagements to meet targeted business development goals.
HR planning, team development and management: As the corporate advisory practice lead with P&L responsibility, the SM will be responsible for building, grooming and managing the healthcare advisory team.
2. Engagement management, project execution and delivery:
Nature of engagements will include opportunity analysis, developing business plans and operating models, working with innovation advisory team members in areas of technology access, evaluation and commercialization and with corporate finance colleagues for innovation and enterprise fund raising and M&A.
Engagement scoping: As the lead industry interface, the SMwill sense client needs and will scope out services to meet client requirements and where innovation advisory or corporate finance/M&A services are offered, the SM will liaise with respective team leads at Sathguru to structure and deliver comprehensive and relevant services to the client.
Engagement execution and delivery: The SM will be responsible for management and oversight of all healthcare advisory engagements.The SM will lead engagement planning and execution and will have ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction and delivery.
7 to 8 years experience with at least last three to four years in healthcare/life sciences practice of consulting firm. Few years of research/industry experience preferred
Academic qualification: scientific foundation in applied life sciences/biology/biochemistry and MBA
Experience of leading client delivery, engagement execution and managing teams
Strong capability to write, communicate, facilitate and present cogently and with high impact to all levels of industry audiences, clients and internal staff and management
Strong analytical skills and perspective to deliver value adding insights to clients and develop reputation for thought leadership
Self-starter and high level of motivation and drive required for aggressively building a differentiated advisory practice
