Job Description

The Sr. Group manager will be a member of the Consulting and Professional Services (CPS) Business Unit client management team at the company and report into Process Business owner. This person will have responsibility of managing Production operations for a key client to begin with and eventually, numerous Company clients.

To drive revenue growth by creating and championing high-value propositions for the client

Client and Account Management: Formulate and negotiate SLAs during contract drafting, achieve revenue targets, manage client issues, adherence to process KPIs, guide team with expert knowledge and insights, recruitment, training, and appraisal of team members

Ad Layout & Pagination

Produce ad dummy pages based on ad manifest
* Calculate Ad/Edit Ratio
* Update ad layout as needed

Public Notice Production

Receive ads from ad order team
* Typeset and enter ad text into Atex system
* Proofreading and edit ad text to ensure accuracy
* Paginate public notice ads onto newspaper page
* Coordinate with ad order team to answer any questions that come up
* Format ad based on ad type and on specific customer requirements

Book Production

Pagination and typesetting of books
* Proofreading the layout
* Creating tables, charts
* Schedule press time with printer and generate PDFs to send to printer
* Send PDFs to vendor for XML conversion and load XML packages into Web CMS for online book site
* Traffic proofs of articles to authors

Pre-event Marketing Material Production

* Create program guides, schedule printing and delivery to event
* Create brochures, schedule printing and delivery to event
* Create Web banner for CLE eblast for Events

Print Scheduling
* Consult with editorial, sales and print vendor to create print schedules
* Request estimates from printer for special section print projects
* Check press runs (print orders) for accuracy, inclusion of inserts, special sections, etc.

XML Conversion (this work currently done by a vendor)

* Scrape editorial content from Final PDF layouts of all print publications and create an XML document for each article in ALM-valid XML
* Upload files nightly to MarkLogic database for internal ALM processes and delivery to LEXIS-NEXIS


* Create Mock ups for upcoming sections for sales marketing campaigns
* Maintain a work log of pending reprint jobs
* Create pieces (design, find article content, layout, etc.) for customers based on info provided from sales and client
* Follow up on client changes and pending jobs, encouraging approvals to ensure captured revenue for month's end billing
* Send out jobs to clients
* Send approved jobs to appropriate vendor for printing

Custom Publishing

* Work with sales to create schedule of publications
* Schedule printing, delivery, inserting of publications
* Create/traffic ads
* Create layouts of publications merging editorial/advertorial content with ads
* Create layout of sections (directories, special advertising sections, etc.) for insertion into magazines
* Acquire materials from advertisers/clients, including ads, logos, images, etc.


* Proofread stories to ensure proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
* Maintain ALM dictionary including frequently used law firm names, judicial names and other key people/places
* Edit stories to adhere to ALM style principles (e.g., capitalization)


* Degree level education and ideally professional qualification

* Experience in print and digital media/publishing, editorial, and copy editing

* Over 14+ years of experience out of which at least few years should have been in a senior capacity ideally with one or more of the following:

o An offshoring company with operations in India
o A knowledge services outsourcing company
o Any offshoring or outsourcing company with past work experience in Professional Services/Publishing/Information Industry

* Track record of initiative, creativity and motivation to surpass challenging performance goals.

* Excellent presentation and Communication skills

* Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and credibility quickly with an executive-level audience
