Job Description

Reporting to - Manager Welding

Overall target of the position :

Develop welding processes, train workforce, select vendors with the objective of delivering quality welding at least time and cost, within the limits of company standards and statutory obligations.

Job Assignments, Measurements & Sphere of Influence:

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Description of the main principle tasks & responsibilities:

Develop and establish welding processes, co-ordinate with IBR, ASME, EN, obtain statutory approvals, release procedures in order to ensure quality welding is delivered and customer satisfaction.

Co-ordinate with QA / QC Customer Inspector, IBR Authority, related department / shops, plan organise, deliver & supervise welding training, obtain statutory certification in order to ensure timely production and customer satisfaction

Organize selection of vendors, plan and monitor availability of consumables JIT in order to ensure minimum inventory

Develop, issue, monitor, update quality welding processes/systems, control products, in order to ensure compliance with company standards and statutory regulations.

Defect analysis of welding, finding out root causes & corrective action

Initiate, develop, monitor, review new production processes, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, in order to facilitate development of new products at least time and cost.

Act as the management representative.

Monitor and reviews the efficiency of processes and system

Ensure the quality and process improvement strategy is established;

Check or may approve procedures, instructions and other quality related documents and records.

Lead a team of Welding Engineers.

Education & Trainings:

Mandatory (MUST):

B.Tech in Metallurgy/Mechanical

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE):

Welding Inspector Certificate
ASNT Level II Certificate for UT, RT, PT & MT

Professional Experience:

Mandatory (MUST):

8-10 Years of experience in Welding Engineering in Boiler Pressure Parts Industry
Knowledge of materials like Grade 91, T 23, Super 304, Stainless Steel, DT, NDT, heat treatment.
Good knowledge about various codes like ASME, BS, EN, IBR

Desirable (NICE TO HAVE):

Knowledge of fabrication of pressure parts & drums.
Multicultural - able to motivate to get the best out of people in different countries/cultures;
Experiences in EHS Management and integrated system management.

Ability to operate in large corporations, preferably project oriented.
