Job Description

Responsible for overall project planning, scheduling, reporting, cost control, co-ordination with different stakeholders. The Project Control Engineer ensures application of best practices to the project as appropriate and recommends changes where required.

JOB DUTIES:

Establishment and distribution of baseline project schedule
Preparation of weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports to the client and the project team.
Provides support to the Project Manager in administration of the engineering, supply and erection contracts.
Reports to and receives operational direction from the Project Manager.
Responsible for the implementation of all necessary procedures and tools for the project controls function
Responsible for the effective implementation of project controls including progress measurement, change management and planning
Responsible for the establishment and operation of the project trending and change management systems
Responsible for detail planning, integration with contractors planning, updating and providing plans and mitigation actions to execution engineers.
Works with his counterpart on the clients team to ensure full, appropriate communication and co-ordination in the achievement of the project objectives
Responsible for the establishment, operation and administration of the local project team.
Responsible for all commercial, contractual issues and statutory compliance
Responsible for all project related follow-up and communication

Desired Profile

University degree in Engineering or other relevant discipline
Experience in planning activities in large coke oven batteries project in steel plant. He also should have thorough understanding of the process and engineering of coke oven batteries.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills at all levels including clients, corporate and project management, and staff
Around 7 to 12 years of relevant experience including involvement in at least one major project and exposure to all areas of Project Controls and construction.
Must be self-managed and able to work unsupervised.
Experience with Planning Software in particular Primavera & MS Project.
