Shall lead projects from Project Engineering & Management perspective at the Clients Office / Site and shall report to the Offshore Delivery Manager.
Shall understand the site based project & its scope raised by the Client thoroughly in terms of scope, expectations, field / site requirements, interface with other disciplines Onsite Engineers, align the requirement alternatives from a Business Case objective, etc. & transfer the understanding to the Offshore Project Manager / Engineering Manager.
Shall ensure delivery of the Engineering deliverables prepared by the Offshore Delivery team is as per the expectations of the Client & as set during the discussions prior to & post award of the engineering Service Order.
Should be capable of reviewing and commenting on key deliverables like Design Basis, PFDs, P&IDs, Plot Plans etc. produced by Offshore Engg. team also taking into consideration the actual site conditions & prevalent standards at the existing site of the Client.
DIMENSION OF THIS ROLE:
Shall lead a team of 6-7 Discipline Engineers at Onsite (Clients Site).
Shall be in direct contact with the Client Project & Site Engineering team.
Shall play the critical role of acting as a bridge between the Cleints Project / Engg. team at Jubail, KSA Office / Site & our Offshore Design Office Project Manager / Engineering Manager in India.
Shall participate in Engineering requirements of around 20 to 25 small & medium sized site based projects (existing plant modification projects) annually, pertaining to Petrochemical, Chemical, Fertilizer Industry domains.
The Onsite Team Leader shall be responsible for but not limited to, the following:
Should understand the project needs thoroughly and act accordingly.
Should grasp Clients expectations from Engineering perspective & should be capable of offering value engineering ides upfront in alignment of the particular business case.
Should be able to co-ordinate with Clients Onsite personnel as well as other Onsite Disciplinary Leads of his team onsite, of which he shall be an integral member.
Review / comment / preliminary develop key deliverables like Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Design Basis, Plot Plans etc. as required for various projects.
Participate in Proposal, Project Kick-Off Meetings, Project Progress Review Meetings.
Assist in man-hour estimation for a project.
Maintain rigorous follow up with offshore Project / Engineering Manager for timely submission of deliverables, as per agreed schedule.
Ensure final check of quality of deliverables & correctness w.r.t. site situations & clients expectations, prior to final submission to Client.
Identify & raise Change Requests time to time, as per variations in scope.
Ensure compliance with local Regulatory requirements.
If required, participate in HAZOP, CHAZOP, PSM, Hazard Identification, SIL Studies, etc. in joint participation with Clients Project & Site Engineering team.
B. Tech / M. Tech or equivalent, in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline, from reputed Institutes / Universities.
The position requires 15-20 years of experience in Engineering & Management functions of reputed Chemical / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industries / Engineering Consultants.
Onsite experience is essential, preferably for site based projects in project execution coupled with some years of Operations experience, will be preferred.
Working experience as Project Manager or PMP certification would be an added advantage.
Key Technical Skills Required:
Possess a broad understanding of Engineering functions and Project procedures.
Should have full understanding of respective engineering discipline deliverables requirements.
Should have worked as Project Manager / Engineering Manager for at least 5 years.
Experience as a project manager with responsibilities for overseeing chemical / petrochemical plant construction, engineering, procurement and executing operational plans to promote performance, reliability, safety, and compliance.
Desirable to have sound knowledge on Engineering Standards, National & International Standards, Regulatory Requirements, Process Safety requirements, etc.
Effective computer skills; MS Project, Smart Plant Review, Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exposure to Conceptual Studies, Feasibility studies, Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Plant Start-Up Manuals.
