(Datacenter and Infrastructure Manager)
This position is a hands-on role where the candidate would be responsible for design to support of the company's back-end infrastructure. This would include SAN/NAS, VMWare, Backup infrastructure, and datacenter infrastructure and server hardware technology. This person will also manage a team of engineers who are responsible for the overall health of the company's infrastructure. The data center manager is tasked with ensuring data center operations are meeting SLA, compliant with best practices, secure, scalable, resilient, and efficient. The technical duties of this position entail oversight of physical hardware, power management, infrastructure monitoring, systems provisioning and maintenance/disaster recovery planning. The data center manager will also be responsible for staff scheduling, interfacing with HR as well as enforcing operational policies within the team.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in data center management roles and possess an in-depth understanding of data center operations and infrastructure. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. This position will require strong documentation, organization and multitasking/triage abilities. This position will require on-call availability for emergencies and critical off-hours maintenances.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience relevant to data center operations including:
Server hardware configuration and troubleshooting including: processors, memory, motherboards, backplanes, storage media, RAID/HBA, etc.
Experience and knowledge on the set up of electrical and HVAC systems within data center operations environment. Ability to handle datacenter equipment like PAC, FM200, UPS, DGs, etc.
Power infrastructure management including an understanding of three-phase power.
Knowledge and experience in IBM P-Series Hardware and AIX, HAMP, GPFS.
Knowledge and experience in Linux, UNIX (AIX), and MS-Windows operating system.
Knowledge and experience in Oracle SQL Queries and database performance analysis.
Knowledge and experience in Server and client virtualization
Knowledge and experience in project planning, implementation and management
Knowledge of NetApp-based storage technology in a multi-site DR/high availability environment.
Knowledge of IBM XIV storage technology
Knowledge of SAN fabric on Brocade DCX-4S with Network Manager configuration and management
Managing LAN-Free backups over SAN using NetBackup media servers, Shared Storage Option (SSO), and Veritas Vault
NetBackup Certification and Storage Certification like SNIA, NetApp,
VMWare certification preferred
Basic knowledge of ITIL framework preferred
Demonstrated commitment to customer and team-oriented management
Demonstrated management of a technical team while providing vision and developing strategic goals
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Good analytical skills
Ability to oversee operations in a 24/7/365 operation
Ability to work holidays is mandatory.
10+ years of relevant technical hand-on experience required in technology
Data Center operations experience, preferable at least five (5) years
People management experience of at least 3 years.
