Business System Analyst Job Duties:
Studies business functions, understands business key priorities and objectives, gathers information; evaluates input & output requirements and formats.
Identifies information system gaps and identifies new computer applications/programs needed and automation opportunities by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; tracking information entities, studying system capabilities; analysing and determining feasibilities of different application and system approaches, writing specifications
Liases between business function heads, IT/Technology staff, Key IT consultants & IT Vendors
Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
Conducts Impact Analysis when key System Changes or New System introductions are required into an existing systems/application environment
Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
MS Computer Science degree or equivalent
plus a good MBA is highly preferred
