Job Description

Objective / Purpose of duty:

Responsible for driving product life-cycle, competitive benchmarking and guide product development and support activities

Main responsibilities:

Accountability for maintaining a healthy product P&L
Develops deep understanding of functional and non-functional customer business requirements in the assigned product space
Develops deep understanding of competitive products from JCI and external providers
Creates and manages product feature backlog and plans product releases
Guides development of POCs and prototypes for new product features/functionality
Collaborates with Technical Lead and Technical Architect to validate solution design vis-vis market requirements
Collaborates with Delivery Manager and Business Delivery Owner for product development and maintenance activities
Supports sales efforts by collaborating with Account Management team and solution development discussions with customers
Prepares product manual, marketing collateral, user guide and other product documentation

Supporting responsibilities:

Develops product evangelists in JCI and customer organizations
Provides guidance to QC team for developing use cases, test plan and test cases and during test execution
Develops CI projects to improve user experience and reduce product engineering effort
Creates white papers and research papers to establish functional proficiency of the company and CoEE

Key performance indicators:

1. Project & Product quality indicators:
a. Positive P&L statement indicated by ROI of >2X over product investment
b. Product benchmarking score higher than competitive product offerings leveraging PUGH matrix or similar
c. 100% agreed scope coverage for every delivered customer project
d. Defect Leakage within the Threshold Limits as defined in the BSC metrics

2. Customer satisfaction Index: >=90% for >=90% of the target customer base
3. Process Compliance: As per defined BSC metrics

Experience:

Minimum 4 to 8 years of experience in Business systems development and implementation
Exposure to product management techniques

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

KNOWLEDGE:

Excellent knowledge of business domain and markets
Excellent knowledge of managing software products
Sound knowledge of product financial management
Knowledge of .NET/Java/J2EE/MVC/DB architecture
Knowledge of mobility versions for software products
Sound knowledge on the Information Technology industry trends

SKILLS:

Project Management: Manage multiple projects within cost/timelines and deliver high quality outputs.
Customer Orientation: Provides a range of options to customers based on their needs and educates the customer to make informed decisions for themselves
Analytical Skills: Uses a range of techniques to systematically break down complex problems or issues into component parts to reach a solution.
Proactive Approach: Continually questions existing work standards and processes and delivery in order to find better, faster, less expensive or more effective ways to do things. Endeavors to exceed existing standards where quality of work is considered critical. Anticipates problems and works towards solutions.
