Job Description

Manage design process for existing and new product. Establish timelines for completing designs, drawings, and bills of materials.
Performs or directs personnel in generating design calculations, formal product specifications, and determination of components.
Provides realistic, accurate development cost estimates including any capital investment needs. Establish router times and with Manufacturing Engineering and structures Bills of Materials.
Manage and coordinate all duties associated with Engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials; such as creation, structure, verification, revision, distribution and archiving.
Oversee creation and management of Engineering Change Notices. Ensure that product updates are made in a timely manner in order to support production.
Review and modify existing designs and make changes based on component availability, performance and cost effectiveness.
Schedule and supervisor all work performed by the Product Engineering Department to include Design Engineers, Drafters and support personnel to ensure that all department objectives are satisfied.
Provide engineering support and technical information to other departments, including sales, operations and materials to ensure smooth product flow to customers.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of records storage system and procedures related to engineering designs, drawing, and product specifications.
Responsible for development and maintenance of departmental procedures and policies in compliance with Company policies and guidelines.
Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; and to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Must have ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
