Designation : Product Business Head/Category Head - Mobile Handset
FUNCTIONAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Formulating the product road map as per the mid-term and long-term business objectives of the company through comprehensive market and competition benchmarking. Ensure product-mix availability and co-ordination with production, Service and supply chain to ensure no sales opportunity loss to company
* Responsible to carry out sales forecasting exercise to develop strategic goals, expected sales volumes and profit targets from existing and new products in collaboration with COO.
* Develops annual operating plan to achieve product wise business Volume, Value & Profit targets.
* Maintain price competitiveness w.r.t. competition with planned price drops of existing products & competitive pricing of new products.
* Identify potential market and trade opportunity, recommending new business development plans & weak market development strategy.
* PSI with Sourcing/Sales/PPC as per Stock/Pending PO/Sales Plan /Production & Import Transit Time.
* Timely releasing of Purchase Order/PI arrangement/LC Arrangement from factory to region.
* Coordination with Supplier/Sourcing Team for timely production/material dispatch as per given PO.
* Ensures no production loss due to lack of material availability. Coordinates with the Logistics team and factory team to ensure timely material availability as per schedules
* Promote the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract
* Benchmark existing contracts and suggest areas of key negotiation for improvements in cost and service quality
* Ensure filing of documents under correct classification as per customs tariff and compliance with all customs rules & regulations through nominated CHA.
* Ensure to maintain effective supply chain and smooth flow of materials to indenters (timely clearance of shipments, reduce transit time & implementing JIT (Just in Time Concept).
* Monitoring and reporting of import operational cost and performance report to department head.
* Cost Innovation through process improvements, strategic planning, introducing new tools to increase cost efficiencies.
* Releasing of MIS reports with a view to apprise top management on weekly/Monthly
Marketing & Sales coordination
* In collaboration with the marketing team develops the new product introduction & Launch: Define strategy for new product introduction strategy and conduct product performance review & failure study.
* Tracking & facilitating in New Product Launch process in coordination with Marketing, Factory and R&D teams for new product development in comparison to competition for competitive advantage.
* Pricing & Schemes: Devising pricing strategy through ASP forecasting & control across regions & propose Scheme budgets for all products/models through brand wise price positioning strategy. Product profitability tracking through ASP, MOP & schemes & provide strategic inputs to Sales Admin.
* Sales enhancement and visual merchandising: To ensure desired product display, BTL activities, POP distribution as per defined guidelines with ZM's & RM's
* Understand market and trade by regular market visit to ensure and improve trade visibility and confidence
Service and quality coordination
* Ensure regular interaction & continuity of dialogue at all levels between Sales & service personnel across locations for better customer satisfaction & increased service TAT
* Conduct regular meetings and cordial relations with Support departments (service, logistics, accounts, marketing and others concerned) on pending issues and ensure time-bound closure for smooth functioning.
