Job Description

Position Description:

Reporting directly to the VP - HR & Corporate Affairs, the Plant HR Head Ballabgarh is responsible to provide all required HR support to the plant management team, manage employee and labour relations. The position has a dual reporting to the Manufacturing Director Ballabgarh. Attract, develop and retain best talent, address HR issues and resolve grievances. The position provides vision and direction to the Plant HR Team, while driving daily plant objectives by setting expectation and driving accountability. It is also responsible to implement all requirements as per labour laws, policies and norms with the objective of ensuring a productive and motivated workforce, healthy labour relations and maintaining an amicable and productive work environment in the Ballabgarh plant.

Principal Responsibilities:

Industrial and employee relations

Manage relations with all employees and union, participate in negotiations, monitor returns on investments regarding negotiations, implement CBA and other benefits, implement labour policies and standing orders, monitor employee conduct at work, drive disciplinary action if required, and work with factory management for grievance resolution, drive employee welfare and engagement activities to maintain healthy relations between labour and management and a productive and beneficial work environment.

Public Relations

Manage relationships and maintain personal rapport with government officials, local administration, external union leaders, political leadership of the region, interact with industry associations and other corporate activities to ensure good relationship with the social environment and smooth plant operations.

Legal compliance's

Manage all activities related to labour law compliance like liaison with labour authorities, represent plant in labour-related legal proceedings, implementation of welfare initiatives, maintenance of records and documentation, filing of forms and returns and obtain licenses and certificates and other government approvals to ensure compliance with all legal norms and regulations.

Staffing

Build Organizational Capability within the plant through right staffing (E06 & below) to build an high performing team and increase bench strength.

Talent Management

Engage with the operations team to identify and address their human capital needs, drive all initiatives and activities related to manpower planning, recruitment, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits and other HR processes for all associates, drive retention of key talent and resolve all HR issues with the factory management team to ensure adequate HR support to the plant and develop a productive and motivated workforce.

Cost Control

Monitor welfare, administration & HR cost, plan & execute cost saving initiatives to ensure cost control while maintaining the requisite quality of service.

HR process support for casuals and labour

Coordinate with the Operations team and the union for estimating and fulfillment of manning requirements, control of absenteeism, manage the replacement and dependent hiring process, workmen training, appraisals of casuals with union inputs to ensure high productivity through appropriate manpower deployment and performance.

Administration and facility management

Supervise operations of all administrative services and facilities like transport, canteen, security, housekeeping, vehicle maintenance and others, work with Materials Management to sign HR contracts and monitor vendor performance to ensure timely and quality delivery of administrative services and smooth facility operations.

EHS

Support EHS manager to implement all Environment, health and safety initiatives and compliance requirements and monitor adherence to all EHS norms and to ensure a safe and healthy working environment in the plant premises.

Required Experience

Minimum of 18 years experience in HR in a heavy manufacturing manufacturing/plant setup. Substantial experience in an MNC environment is necessary.
Experience in a union environment (as applicable).
Demonstrated experience leading and managing the various functions of a manufacturing plant operation to achieve desired results.
Demonstrated experience in leading a plant environment through organizational change. 15 years leading a high performance team within a heavy manufacturing environment.

Education

Masters level degree in HR/ER preferred
