Job Description

Knowledge / Skills required-- Hands on knowledge of a manufacturing process of the industry. He should posses good business acumen and should know the trends of the industry. Preferably he should have experience of 5 S, ISO 9001 and 14001. The person should have a strong leadership quality, a firm decision maker and fair analytical ability. He should be overall an influencing leader.

Qualities Required: Ability in Objective Setting, Challenge and Risk Taking. Decision making and achievement orientation, People Skill, Flexibility and Systematic approach

Minimum Qualification---- Required BE Plastics / Dip. Plastic or B.E. CHEMICAL OR MECHANICAL

Key Responsibilities

Critical Success Factors: Budgeting and Control. The position require preparation of annual budgets in tune with strategic business plans for the financial year and deployment and monitoring of resources for achievement

Production Deliverables: The role holder will ensure delivery of production target in time and with the minimum cost possible. He will also coordinate with appropriate functions to ensure productivity and utilization of the resources.

Cost control: He will ensure operations by adopting cost optimization in mind. He will ensure that the wage bill and utility bills are under control.

Managing people and team performance: Overall role of setting performance goals for various teams and people and ensure performance review, feedback and monitoring

Compliance to Regulatory, Legal and Statutory requirement: The position will ensure that all the rules, regulations, procedures & systems applicable on plant are complied to.

Boundary Management: Overall accountability to coordinate with various stakeholders which include Corporate (SCM. Quality. R&D, Projects, HR. EHS, Finance), plant, suppliers, customers and vendors and ensure all resources/information is available to plant. This will also include all internal customer needs are met appropriately.

MIS & Control: The position will be responsible for generating Various MIS related to Plant performance and sharing it on various forums.

The position will require following skills traits for Better performance:

Business acumen and strategic planning. The position requires sharp business acumen to make and keep the operations profitable with current set of product portfolio. A lot of strategic and futuristic planning is essential for keeping the Namakkal site viable for many years

Leadership & Innovation: An out of the box thinker the position will be responsible for bringing new ideas. practices and lead people and creating synergies among various groups for better results The role also requires empowering and delegation thus ensuring not only better result but also people growth. Costumer Focus is the key element for this position and it will involve both internal and external customers.

Span of Control & Decision Making

Plant head is the position which is eventually responsible for the administration and out put of the plant. Therefore, the position takes decision pertaining to the same He can be consulted for decisions in regard to technical/legal/documentation. manpower planning and recruitment process, documentation and liaison related to property and land and also for preparation and implementation of annual business plan. The position has authority to approve all production and factory related decisions such as replying to authorities, production plan, allocation of manpower of energy,safety drill, plant administration, compensatory off etc. The incumbent has authority to present the management all development. updates and concerns related to the respective plant

Person Specification

Age--- 35 to 45 years

Experience--- Required 14 to 22 years.

Preferably-- from Plastics / POLYMER and at least 5 years as plant head.
