Responsible for providing pathology and laboratory diagnostic support services to the hospital.
Receiving requests for consultations and anatomic and clinical laboratory issues from hospital in order to provide support with quality of service and accreditation activities.
Responsible for providing anatomic and clinical pathology diagnostic services by performing tests in area of: surgical pathology, autopsy, cytology, FNAC, bone marrow diagnosis, chemistry, microbiology, hematology, coagulation, serology, body fluid examinations and transfusion service with safe and quality working environment.
Supervises and trains staff in the performance of laboratory functions both administrative and technical operating procedures.
The incumbent performs tasks as assigned, which may include quality assurance and participation in the laboratory services and hospital committees.
Responsible for maintaining high standards of professional services so that the laboratory services will maintain the standard accreditation (NABH).
Appropriate analysis of surgical specimens, intra operative surgical pathology consultations and prompt reporting of results.
Gross description, tissue sampling microscopic examinations of surgical and bone marrow specimens, reporting of findings, verifying and coding diagnosis in the computer.
Taking photographs of the specimens when indicated.
Cytology related duties consist of screening and reporting non gynecological cases including fine needle aspiration specimens.
Performing autopsies, sampling tissues, and microscopic examination of sampled tissues, reporting, and clinicopathologic correlation.
Participates in providing 24 hours call coverage for emergency consultations.
Performs other related duties as required by medical director and COO.
