Job Description

Position Summary:

Support ongoing data quality initiatives led by Data Governance Organization and other key corporate initiatives related to data quality and data integration
Assist in setting up new policies, procedures and practices supporting the Data Governance and Stewardship functions. The Data Stewards will be the point of contact with the Business segments and assist in the overall enablement, adoption and monitoring the set controls.
Data Stewards will also manage and execute training via WebEx for new employees and also refresher courses for existing employees on pre-defined intervals.
Follow any job-related instructions requested by supervisor or management.
Responsible for preparation and presentation of material (including scorecards) for core teams and key governance forums (e.g. Executive Steering Committee, Data Governance Council, Data Steward Committees, Operating Committees, Decision Forums).
Establish and maintain strong relationships with the business stakeholders, Technology partners and product teams to help facilitate (and manage small projects) the issue identification and remediation process.
They will create/manage/distribute scorecards, pre-determined reports, and adhoc reports which will enable management, at the operational, tactical and strategic levels to view the overall quality of their data and assess the timeliness of the remediation activities against the service level agreements.
Prepare presentations/training materials as needed to Conduct/Facilitate training to increase awareness and drive the business readiness and smooth adoption of the tools being used/deployed to support the policies and procedures of the larger Data Governance Program.
Identify opportunities for Process Improvements/Best Practices/Lessons Learned to strengthen data accuracy and/or enhance efficiency. Submit recommendations to the Data Governance Team to achieve consistent and successful implementation across the various Business Groups. Must be flexible with office timing to participate in Data Governance Industry Forums, as and when needed and warranted.
Manage the Team that will have the following responsibilities
o Experience in the field of data analysis, data profiling, data migration and data integration
o Understanding of reference data, financial data and client data
o Should be able to display experience with understanding data quality, data governance, and MIS reporting related to these topics
o Experience working in projects in their full cycle of SDLC and STLC.
o Should have managed or being part of ETL projects in a lead position and participated in business and technical specification reviews.
o Experience to include building of reusable methodologies, queries, reports, other artifacts for validating results, identifying issues and working with Business and Technology partners during the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) phase and then during mitigation and solution implementation phase. This process will provide end to end management from identification, through notification, through remediation.
o Create and maintain documents and systems for Business Glossary, Data Taxonomy, Master Data definitions, Data Tiering, Governance Standards and Policies.
o Develop mappings for building data quality solutions by use of multiple documentation tools
o Preparing KPIs, dashboards and scorecards for various business units using the tools available to report on completeness, conformity, consistency, accuracy, uniqueness, integrity etc. of the data
o Ensure the governance workflow standards and processes are adhered to by the various groups.
o Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, and vigilant analysis skills
o Educating and training junior members in the team and quality checking the deliverables of key projects
o Act as a super-user to support the business needs for system/tool implementations. In addition, assist in providing sign-off to support the implementation and on-going support of new and enhanced system functionality and future tool customization, inclusive of reporting. They will provide customer service for routine questions, day to day process related queries and issue resolution. The Data Stewards will also manage escalation process when necessary.
