Job Description

Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Automation Engineering, with Project management. Engineering degree preferred. Experience in plastic processing and solid background in mechanical engineering. Working hands-on experience in Polymer (plastics) extrusion. 4-6 years of work experience in related engineering capacity. Is able to motivate and communicate with a diverse group of employees. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment and has the ability to set priorities and manage change. Proven ability in recognizing and correcting equipment and process problems. Good working knowledge of applicable electrical and machine safety codes Working knowledge of current industrial PLC and HMI programming software's (preferred experience with Allen Our client is an establ! ished manufacturing company specializing in polymer and metal processes is hiring a designer/engineer to assume responsibility for the designing, sourcing, awarding, manufacturing, and commissioning of equipment for production as well as the management of projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with assigned specifications. Critical tasks would be the efficient delivery of project deliverable, effective quality control, and timely reporting to management. Experience in plastic processing and hands-on experience in Polymer (plastics) extrusion is required. Design & Development Responsibilities: Research, develop concepts, designing, and negotiates for equipment or parts required for; production lines or equipment control plans as assigned. Completes CAD layouts and detailed drawings for; line layouts, equipment or electrical controls as requested Coordinates the design and fabrication of purpose built equipment in consultation with external consultants, equipment suppliers, and internal resources. Responsible for the correct documentation of all design activities by following ISO 9001 Design Review procedures Sourcing components/equipment, develops detailed specification for purchasing, expediting delivery/fabrication. Negotiates and manages contracts with external firms. Project Responsibilities: Manages assigned project through developing and maintaining; Project Time-lines, resource requirements, budget and cost tracking, leading field crews, and being main contact for co-ordination between contractors, suppliers and site teams. Is responsible for providing proposals by researching,compiling and analyzing relevant documentation and presenting to management. On site (hands on) management may require frequent international trips with extended stays checking work, sourcing locally, troubleshooting, being available at critical stages to ensure installation and testing/commissioning meet goals. Traveling internationally a minimum of 30% is anticipated. Ensure all regulatory requirements for site are met as they relate to implementing new equipment or production lines (eg arrange for electrical inspections). Other areas of responsibility include Budget, Procedure Writing, Training, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, and Report Preparation. Job Requirements Completion of a 3-year Technologist Diploma program in. Bradley & Siemens platforms). Competent using latest versions of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Time -Line (MS-project) software. Experienced in the detailing and tolerancing drawings (GD&T). Project management experience in manufacturing environment implementing new production lines and equipment. Is able to write in a recognized business format. Has previous experience in Health & Safety procedures Tor industrial establishments. Has previous experience in writing procedures. Is able and willing to travel internationally a minimum of 30% of the time.
