Job Description

This is a senior position and requires an individual who is strong on systems and has experience in developing inventory methodologies to ensure operational effectiveness. The successful applicant will have strong change management and problem solving skills as these will be critical in implementing a demand led inventory system that not only meets the business needs but also delivers on our service promise to our internal customers.
As Materials Manager your duties & responsibilities will include :
Supervises warehouse personnel and warehouse functions
Maintain an inventory accuracy rate of at least 97%
Manage site owned and consigned inventories through adequate stock levels and cycle counts
Ensure that all inventory is accurately classified
Establishes stock levels to assure adequate inventory levels
Ensure the removal of obsolete inventory through established policies and procedures
Interact with User Departments to resolve inventory issues through joint warehouse/materials process improvements and regular open communication
Closely interact with internal customers to monitor quality of service being received
Review , prepare SAP reports for accuracy and trends
Work closely with the Sourcing and Logistics team
Coordinate the receipt, stocking, and distribution of inventory to accurate inventory accountability and cost tracking
Develop and implement plans to optimize inventory cost and customer service goals
Ensure that established processes are being complied with to ensure internal customer satisfaction
Participate as an active warehouse representative in the Supply Chain process
Develop Company's MM staff and create an environment for their professional growth
Manage the warehouse to assure inventory stock is stored in a safe and clean manner
Manage the inventory of spares/ consumables/ reagents
Manage the site catalog process
Prepare reports that monitor warehouse activities
Research and resolve any discrepancies in receipts and invoices
Perform other related tasks assigned by SCM Manager
The successful candidate will have the following qualification and experience:
University degree in Engineering/ Commerce/ Supply Chain (Essential)
More than ten years of operational site experience in Materials Management/ Warehouse in the mining/ oil & gas/ power/ construction industry (Essential)
Managing teams (Essential)
Fluent in English (Essential)
SAP (Essential)
Mining experience (preferred)
