a) Objective of the Position :
The position holder creates key strategic and tactical plans, key performance metrics and dashboards to drive the Plants OPEX program; monitors progress of improvement projects by comparing actual costs with estimates. This position also leads Black belts and Green belts program and spreads throughout focus on driving continuous improvement activities through the plant operations.
b) Job Responsibilities: Key Deliverables
Coordinates, drives, leads and executes improvement projects and initiatives by meeting/ exceeding business needs
Has independently handled Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Black belt projects; conducted Green Belts certification program in the organization
Elimination / reduction of Non value added activities of all resources through Value stream mapping, Kanban and 5S for visual controls.
Develop Value stream mapping for all processes to improve reliable replenishing time (RRT)
Monitor, review and improve unit level measures of performances in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety
Drive continuous improvements throughout plant
Monitor and review manpower requirements and improve manpower productivity through low cost automation
Kanban / JIT implementation at W/H and dispensed materials implement best practices in WH basis Opex Program.
Reduction of production Lead times / Cycle time reduction through effective engagement of all resources
Use of TPM / problem solving tools with shop floor employees emphasis on use of structured problem solving techniques.
Coordinator for adoption of TQM - Deming criteria across the plant as and when required
Expert in SPC and demonstrated success in driving DPM (Defect per million) control on shop floor by understanding in-process quality checks and controls
Monitored and appraised performance of multi-skilled, multinational work force and imparted training to facilitate smooth production operations.
Drive 100% Total Employee Engagement through Kaizen and ensure OPEX is the DNA / Culture of the organization.
a. Preferable Industries:
i) Engineering / Process industry that has implemented TPM / LEAN / 6 sigma or any equivalent continuous improvement program on a sustainable basis.
