Lead the overall SQA functions for all commodities as Plastic, Rubber, Machined, Forged, Electronics, Casting, fasteners etc including incoming inspection, issue containment and supplier corrective actions.
Responsible for assuring the incoming parts Quality of Casting, Forging, Sheet Metal, machined & proprietary components by following established procedures as specified time-to-time under organization excellence system.
Drive issue resolution with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing.
To improve the quality of parts from Supplier.
To improve and standardize Supplier's manufacturing process.
To maintain and improve on Product Safety Requirements at all stages of Manufacturing (At supplier).
To be effective on the improvement of quality at supplier end.
To take care of supplier APQP and PPAP, Quality of parts & Delivery.
To coordinate all supplier quality development activity.
Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
Reduce supplier PPM. (Timely effective communication about NC reported in receipt inspection, Assembly line or customer.
Get 8-D , check 8-D report for adequacy, work closely with supplier to identify real root cause, corrective & preventive actions & frequent visit to key supplier to check sustainous of such actions).
Conduct Product & Process & system Audits at vendors for the sub assemblies & child parts. Tool life monitoring & tool duplication of various child parts and components.
Monitoring the Supplier Index for the Supplier Performance monitoring & Tracking accordingly plan for supplier up gradation to improve the supplier performance.
Monitor process capabilities of defined parameters from suppliers as per Product Safety requirements.
Monitoring Process capabilities of vendors manufacturing processes.
Review and approve PPAP's from suppliers for new parts and for existing parts changes.
Well aware about the ISO/TS 16949 standard, its importance & requirements.
Prepare monthly MIS and BOD data on time and input into the KB QHSE cockpit on the intranet. Make improvement plans based on the performance coming out of this data.
Coordinating new vendor development & product development trials, testing with Product Development- CFT & Strategic Sourcing Team.
Ensure compliance of SC / CC requirements at supplier as per PSA requirements and complete PSA audits as per plan.
Monitor & review the Rejection/Rework levels in the manufacturing assy. operations related to Parts quality
Complete assigned Internal (Q First Maturity Assessment) actions as per request. Ensure zero major NC's in external audit (ISOTS 16949).
Assessing performance of the vendors based on various criterions such as percentage for rejections, quality improvement, timely delivery, credit terms etc.
Complete assignments related to new projects as per requirements and timelines.
Participates in the review of all design, purchasing and test documentation to assure conformance to quality standards.
Facilitate development of supplier to meet Auto Inergy requirements (cost, quality, delivery, lean manufacturing, during supplier on site review, TS16949 evaluation, etc.)
Responsible for reviewing product and packing specification.
Development and implementation of Supplier Onsite Process Approval (APQP).
Conducting training programs for suppliers on quality management system, PPAP & Problem solving technique.
Manage supplier development activities to support VA/VE improvements in quality, cost, and delivery at suppliers.
Ability to evaluate suppliers and perform manufacturing assessments to develop and support purchasing strategic supplier panel.
Support the manufacturing plant with High Impact supplier issues.
