Job Description

Would be expected to work as Taxation Business Partner on Strategic & Operational aspects involving all Taxation initiatives.The position reports to the CEO. Our clients offer excellent salary/perks as per industry norms & commensurate with experience.

KRAs

1. Ensure tax efficiency by using the most appropriate and tax efficient types of plans

a) Evaluate the tax potential risk involved and vet proposals to make them tax efficient

b) Provide guidance regarding additional cost on accounts of tax

c) Provide suggestions on new measures to minimise tax

d) Advice on regulatory requirements to be complied with

e) Advice on risk involved ,if envisaged

2. Review assessments and recommend changes in the existing structure to safeguard potential liabilities


a) Identify principal/quantum wise quantum of dispute area

b) Identify judicial decisions to support the companies stand

c) Consult and discuss with the councils and stock consultants regarding appropriate actions to be taken

3. Interact with the industry finance committee to resolve industry issues

a) Attend finance committee meetings on regular basis

b) Analyse the impact on account of any new change in the regulations or laws

c) Engage in in-depth discussions pertaining to industry representations at the appropriate forums

d) Discuss in detail about uniform policies adopted in the industry

4. Regular updation of judicial decisions or new regulations to improvise tax efficiency and compliance

a) Monitor regularly the daily publishing of supreme court and high court and terminal judgements

b) Evaluate all major finance articles affecting the industry

c) Implement new advantages into operations after getting it authorized from consultants and industrial practice

5. Coordinate with marine lawyers for arbitration

a) Evaluate the facts of the matter to identify the dispute, strengths and weakness of cases
b) Liaison with the marine lawyers to improvise claims and to reduce liabilities
c) Discuss operation measures for strengthening claims
d) Inform people regarding changes required in the contracts/ procedure

6. Coordinate with the immediate subordinates and operational staff

a) Inform subordinates and operation staff regarding change in operational requirements in order to ensure proper compliance with regulations

b) Inform subordinates and operation staff regarding additional documents required for verification by revenue authorities

c) Provide information to the accounting personnels when new levies are imposed for compliance requirement


Candidate Profile: CAs with 14 to 20 years relevant experience of which recent years must be in service organisations. Must be very strong in strategic & operational initiatives. Must be willing to work independently.
