Interface with the body, suspension teams within their design/development timing to ensure brake system sizing, Wheel/tire are achievable.
Lead advanced engineering in development of brake geometry/sizing (NVH, SAFETY, THERMAL, RIDE, DURABILITY, WEIGHT, COST, etc), to meet program attributes.
Interface with thermal management analytical team to ensure heat energy dissipation/airflow implications are fully understood & taken into consideration.
Lead systems design engineer in design direction performance attributes on programs.
Ensure defined gateway objectives are complied with and that a plan is developed for each outstanding deviation.
Ensure analytical engineering for vehicle attributes & homologation requirements are theoretically achievable through analysis.
Ensure all derivative of the same class of vehicle to use architecture can be 'flexed' to meet each program.
Liaise with advanced manufacturing in terms of assembly / process definition & capability.
Maintain attribute status and engineering sign-off documentation for Steering attributes.
Guide development engineers through trade-off and issue resolution of vehicle dev attributes.
Review the supplier technical offerings in terms of performance, package, technical support standpoint.
