Job Description

a. GST:

Act as the technical lead for the GST implementation efforts and, advise and appraise the internal stake holders on the various issues during the process. The candidate will also prepare, maintain and update the GST implementation map to keep track of the activities and timelines

Coordinate with the various teams internally and provide necessary guidance on the system requirements to enable accurate reporting to statutory authorities

b. Tax optimization in business models:

Support the operations teams in reviewing the quotes prepared from a tax cost perspective and also suggest alternative models to mitigate tax leakages

Advise on any tax queries that may be raised by the operations team

c. Tax audits / compliance reviews:

Manage audits under various indirect tax legislation's and work with external advisors to bring them to a closure

Support the teams handling compliance aspects by guiding them through the process wherever required and undertake periodic reviews to ensure accurate reporting

A professional qualification (CA / CWA / CS / law degree) with at least 5-6 years of experience (post qualification experience) in handling core indirect tax matters.
Experience in a Big 4 environment or a MNC company in a large manufacturing set up preferred.
In depth knowledge on the Indirect tax matters including Excise, VAT, Service tax, Customs and SEZ matters and experience in handling tax audits by govt authorities
Should be adequately hands-on and analytical thereby capable of getting and sharing technical insights and transforming them into effective business solutions, including during the GST implementation process
Should demonstrate a proven track record of handling complex tax structures / models / issues and successfully implementing tax optimal solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interface throughout organization at multiple levels.
Keeping abreast of the recent developments in law and updating the team on amendments which will impact business
