Job Description

Business Acumen:

Using knowledge of the organization s processes and the external operating environment to improve human capital and business outcomes

Workforce Management:

Using knowledge of attraction, engagement
Performance management to meet talent needs of the organization

Metrics Use and Creation:

Ability to identify and use metrics to make the business case for HR programs, align HR strategy with business goals, and assess HR program performance


Ability to customize and/or implement new solutions to HR challenges in creative ways


Ability to persuade line managers of the need for new or existing HR programs

Conflict Resolution:

Ability to resolve conflicts between employees


Ability to create and facilitate effective presentations

Strategic Planning:

Contributes to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes
Develops and implements the Human Resources strategic plan for the organization
Ensures the HR strategic plan supports overall company objectives
Facilitates long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda and adjusts HR strategy to reflect changing business needs
Acts as a liaison between the line
HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs
Identifies new opportunities where HR can add value to the business
Maintains knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy

Organizational/Leadership Development:

Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business strategy
Develops and implements appropriate strategies and programs to ensure organizational and leadership development objectives are met
Ensure a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
Leading change across the company to help shape the company s culture
Ability to use diagnostic and consultative organization design and development skills to assist in developing and identifying the next generation of leaders

Employee Relations:

Responsible for identifying, anticipating and resolving employee relations issues, conducts investigations as necessary, recommends discipline and counseling as necessary
Partners with leaders to provide counsel during reorganizations, restructuring
Downsizing workforce efforts when necessary

Labor Relations:

Supports achievement of all labor-related strategic and organizational initiatives, including reorganizations, restructuring and downsizing workforce efforts when necessary

Employee Recognition/Communication:

Responsible for overseeing company wide employee recognition and communication programs
Responsible for timely distribution of critical employee information

Performance Management:

Responsible for administering, adapting and monitoring company wide performance management program
Helps the business unit manager to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future performance standards

Total Rewards:

Oversees the incentive and bonus program structures and effectiveness of the plans


Maintains knowledge of industry trends, benchmarks and applicable employment legislation and ensure business unit compliance
Review and benchmark internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives

Position requirements

Bachelor or Master degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or Business Management including Labor Relations
10 years of Labor Relations experience
Experience in leading company-wide change initiatives.
