The Head of Innovation or the Technology Lead has the responsibility to set the innovation strategy of the COMPANY. Leading a team of Business Analysts, Business Model Architects and Solution Blueprinting experts he/she shall transform innovative ideas into an execution plan, and work closely with the Head of Delivery and Operations and the Head of Centre of Excellence to equip the respective resources with the right skills to deliver the ideas into reality.
Responsibilities of the role includes:
Create the overall technology strategy roadmap for the COMPANY. Provide the rationale and justification for the strategy and work out a short, medium and long term strategy roadmap to deliver the vision.
Provide clairvoyance on how this strategy can transform the business internet industry.
Lead a team of business analysts, business model architects and solution blueprinting experts in crafting out the programs that can be developed based on the technology roadmap.
Execute small exploratory proof-of-concepts, focusing on getting the business model and the overall technical architecture right, before deriving the framework for how the programs can be executed as projects.
Present the roadmap to the board to secure endorsement.
Engage and work closely with the Head of Delivery and Operations, and Head of Centre of Excellence to plan out the project deliveries.
Supply resources (short term arrangement) into the project to transfer knowledge as well as provide the necessary context for project delivery.
Provide insight and strategic view of the India market and marketing in the region. Continuously explore new opportunities and business models, and engage with the key stakeholders (of COMPANY and its affiliates) for strategy alignment.
Explore success case studies and implementations in China to inspire similar successes in COMPANY for the India Market, by developing indianised versions of what have worked in other parts of the world.
Participate in global mobile events for inspiration and igniting new possibilities that can be built in the COMPANY.
Provide Business Analyst (BA) support by loaning BA resources to project teams where needed.
Create new Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), trademarks (TM) and Copyrights for COMPANY.
Define and communicate clearly team member roles and expectations.
Maintain and promote team morale.
Provide visibility to COMPANY Leadership on department financials and progress, charged-out costs against budgets.
Facilitate the creation of a knowledge exchange based on collateral's built by the respective direct reports.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technology lead with a proven track record of driving the digital innovation agenda or other innovations over the past 15+ years.
He/she will have experience in marketing, prototyping, developing business models. He/she will have worked in at least one best- in-class multinational with exposure to global digital innovations.
The new Head of Innovations (CTO) will have international work experience and the ability to manage geographically distributed organizations and work collaboratively with resources from different cultures.
Fluency in English is a must with other languages a plus (especially Hindi and/or Mandarin). Experience in Methodologies, and industry standards will be viewed favorably.
The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to participate and engage in global seminars, conventions or events that can provide inspirations for his/her work.
