He will be required to work closely with Global factories all to identify prospective projects which will bring cost savings and maintain the quality standards as per the global standards. He will also be required to identify projects based on total spend and the commodity capability of domestic suppliers.
Support the procurement process to effectively and efficiently manage the supply chain and provide various supply chain models to suit various business and product needs mitigating the supply risk.
Should have in-depth knowledge about commercials and technical of major commodities like Castings, Forgings, Steel fabrications, Hydraulics, Gears and other mechanical components.
Should have good knowledge and understanding on supplier development and quality management process and shall be able to guide quality team to meet global quality standard.
Should have worked in global transnational company and should possess good understanding on European and North American working culture
Should have good understanding on finance and capable of doing cost and benefit analysis to drive decision making based on total cost of ownership model
Should be able to improve the value equation (price, quality and service) of material purchases by analyzing and conducting industry research, including market, supplier, cost and competitive analysis.
Should be able to assess, mitigate and manage material supply risks to ensure no stock outs.
Should be able to develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for specified sub-
Should be able to ensure business needs and technology capabilities are linked, established
and maintained for all key relationships both inside and outside of the Company.

B.Tech/BE in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Production (MBA preferred)
Minimum 15 years procurement experience or similar buying experience with strong knowledge of supplier industry that is specific to the position.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels
both within and outside the organization.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Process management or Quality Improvement
Process skills are a plus.
