o Responsible for all administration aspects of the company, clients, vendors, staffing, Transportation Facilities Security , Laisoning with police, District administration, Government departments, with public at large
o Telecommunications, database management, Local, purchasing, shipping/receiving, etc.
o Directs the Human Resource/Personnel function of the association including employee Training, safety.
o Development and implementation of policies, benefits administration
o Responsible for overall legal functions of the company such as develop and maintain lease agreements, Registration of document, follow up of legal suits with law firms, courts legal vetting, execution of legal contracts, etc
o The job holder is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Legal department, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
o Work with legal council on day to day to activities, negotiate with clients on legal agreements
o Review and provide legal advice on tender Conditions
o Review on-going cases and advice management accordingly.
o Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
o Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
o Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.
o Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
o Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
o Formulate regulatory compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly
o Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly
o Review all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management's attention.
o Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities
Sound legal knowledge in areas such as contract management, business law, land and office leasing, land acquisition, etc. Managing business operations such as client management, leasing, human resources, technology, facilities, finance and marketing.
Skills and Abilities:
Can identify and analyze complex issues and problems in management areas, and recommend and implement solutions.
Can manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and support staff.
Displays excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
Education & Experience
Should be at least a graduate in law from a reputed university.
A Masters degree will be an added advantage;
Should have practiced in court at least for 5 years.
At least Five years as legal advisor/officer. legal experience ideally in a leading organization, with a proven track record in contract negotiation and drafting;
Proven track record of providing accurate and effective legal counsel;
Proven track record of adding value to an organization through the development of comprehensive contract documents that mitigate risk and penalties.
Experience in handling administration in medium size organization
