Job Description

Reporting to : CEO

Job Purpose

Ensure effective and efficient operation of the Support Functions - Finance Division.

Area of Responsibility

Primary purpose of this role is to assist the Chief Financial Officer with the implementation of the necessary financial control measures in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures and general accepted accounting practice and internationally recognized best practices within the Retail industry.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

Managing the entire gamut of financial, commercial and accounting activities.

Business Planning and budgeting for effective financial management of the organization, to achieve its corporate objectives.

Preparing annual budgets for operations, and periodical forecasts exercising budgetary control and managing the working capital.

Supervising the preparation of statutory, management and divisional accounts for each location.

Ensuring timely assessment and filing of corporate and individual direct and indirect taxation.

Liaison with commercial banks for fund and non-fund based limits.

Ensuring Legal and Regulatory Compliance

Timely finalization of accounts Optimizing Fund Allocation.

Cost Control.

Overseeing financial & management accounting.

Capital expenditure & business acquisition evaluation.

Commercial, internal controls, statutory compliance etc. involving multiple states.

Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and take appropriate actions based on the forecast.

Monitor organization expenditure against budget and conduct variance analysis. Propose and monitor any actions needed based on such analysis.

Prepare timely monthly financial reports for submission to the office as well as for statutory reporting.

Design, implement and maintain internal controls to minimize risks

To plan and educate on training and learning sessions relating to Accounts and Finance.

Handle company tax issues and liaison with consultants.

Liaison with external auditors for the annual audit.

Make regular reports for the Management on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets.

Overall knowledge of Accounting.

VAT requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited college/university. Specialization in areas such as finance, business administration and accounting would be preferred.

At least 5 years relevant experience in finance function, with sound understanding of working in a dynamic environment.

Experience of financial responsibility for budgeting, accounting guidelines, creating end of year accounts and external liaison with auditors.

Ability to develop, monitor and maintain management information systems and procedures.

Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training to colleagues.

Must possess strong analytical skills.

Must be able to prioritize tasks and make important decisions in a dynamic work environment.

Excellent Leadership Qualities

Ability to work long hours.

Strong communication skills.

Computer literate (Windows, Office).
