Job Description

Job Description:

- Developing foundation, sub-structure, piling and earthworks solutions from feasibility and concept stages through to detailed design and construction
- Initiating geotechnical desk studies at feasibility stage of projects
- Reporting in accordance with EC7, including Geotechnical Design Reports
- Undertaking Geotechnical Risk Assessments
- Scoping and supervising site investigation works
- Project and commercial management
- Interfacing with clients and acting as representative on site.

Candidate Specification:

-Strong Bachelors and Masters Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
-Professional experience in Geotechnical Engineering, including delivery of projects in fields such as heavy civils, power, bridges, utilities, ports and harbours, environment, buildings and infrastructure
-Hands on experience of Geotechnical Design and reporting to British Standards and Eurocodes e.g. EC7
-Experience in using appropriate geotechnical design and analysis software e.g. SlopeW, Wallap, Plaxis, HoleBase etc
-Good analytical and report writing skills, effective in both verbal and written communication
-Enthusiastic and ambitious, self motivated with good organisational capability
-Outward facing with good interpersonal skills
-Experience within a commercial engineering environment
-Candidates must be able to attain UK Security Clearance for working on secure / sensitive projects
-Full UK driving license
-Be prepared to work away from home as required.
