Overall responsible for all the operation of the Rail & Universal Beam Mill (RUBM).
To ensure proper coordination amongst all associated departments, e.g. Production Planning, Marketing, Logistics, QC, SMS etc.
To interact with customers and associated agencies in coordination with Marketing for new product development / development of new grades of steel.
Implementation of various systems like Safety, ISO, EMS, TPM TQM etc in the Department.
To ensure strict control over Techno-economic parameters, Quality, Consumption of Spares and Consumables, inventory and to ensure that the costing is within the budgeted norms.
To ensure strict administrative control over all operation & maintenance personnel in line with the policies of the company.
To personally take care of the training and development of the second and third command by giving them desired exposure & support.
Production Planning & Control
Overseeing production related tasks including planning, procurement, control & trouble shooting for achieving the planned periodic schedules.
Preparing & implementing Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for operation & maint. jobs.
Planning & implementing the preventive & predictive maintenance schedules for improving the overall reliability & safety of plant, personnel & production processes.
Exercised administrative control on executives & workmen & ensured development of their skills & career growth.
Rolling Mill Operation
Designing & implementing systems, procedures & manuals for the preparation & Operation
Ensuring optimum utilization of Plant by increasing Yield and reducing cobble rate.
Adopting measures to increase production, viz. Pass Configuration and Guiding System Modification.
Conducting ISO and QS Audits; evaluating internal control systems/ procedures with a view to highlight the shortcomings & implementing necessary recommendations.
Controlling Fuel & Power Consumption.
Managing the overall procurement of raw material, spares, equipments, machinery and other project requirements; maintaining minimum inventory level.
Recruiting, mentoring and training field functionaries to ensure operational efficiency.
Creating and sustaining a dynamic environment that fosters development opportunities and motivates high performance amongst Team members.
Computer usage for Performance monitoring: Developed periodical performance monitoring system through SAP/ERP/ Oracle with extensive use of computers at all levels.
