Job Description

Role:

Purchasing:
Responsible for both strategic and routine purchasing of goods and services for the smooth and efficient running of the company.
This includes vendor selection, vendor evaluation, credit period discussions and building and maintaining a good working relationship with all vendors.
Routine and periodic evaluations to be conducted to ensure the continued suitability of the vendor.
To ensure that we have more than one vendor for all critical material and service supplies.
Warehousing:
Maintaining the warehouses for raw materials and finished goods.
Appointment of C&F agents in different parts of the country based on timely supplies to customers.
Warehouses to be maintained keeping in mind the ISO 9001, WW safety and hygiene standards.
Inventory:
Maintaining optimum levels of inventory that will prevent any cases of stock-outs.
Ensuring that there are no cases of expired inventory or slow moving inventory piling up in warehouses.
100 % accuracy between physical and book stocks.
Production Planning:
Responsible for production planning and scheduling.
Achieving goals on consensus while maintaining the goal of on time delivery to customers.
Works closely with the operations team to develop a schedule that maximizes existing resources, including material stock and time.
Scheduling process and makes direct decisions on the scheduling of work orders, and entering and processing manufacturing orders to achieve on time delivery to customers.
Logistics:
Responsible for inward and outward logistics for all materials to and from.
Negotiation of freight rates and entering into long term transport contracts.
Evaluating alternate transport options to optimize freight, both primary and secondary.
Work closely with sales and customer service to ensure customer needs are addressed.
People management:
Hiring, training and development of all Supply Chain employees.
Allocation of appropriate talent resources to optimize the function of the Supply Chain group.
