Job Description

Candidate Profile:

  1. Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree -- Additional Insurance qualification will be an advantage

  2. Candidates must have good General Insurance experience and working knowledge of Life Insurance.

  3. Familiar with working with the latest insurance software




Business Plan, Strategy


  • To assess organizational performance against annual budget and company's long term strategy

  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

  • Generate higher value contracts, arranging low cost funding from foreign institutions

  • Exceptional skills in improving profitability and minimizing external debts

  • Participating in identifying and evaluating new business ventures and expansion plans


Finance & Financial planning


  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports. Monthly profit and loss forecast by divisions vs budget
  • Develop collaborative relationships with banks, lending institutions. Private equity partners and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance liquidity
  • Fund raising and relationships with Banks
  • Expertise in monitoring & controlling Treasury, Banking & Financial operations. Efficiently reviewing working capital requirements and ensuring optimum utilization of funds
  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as required.  
  • Oversee cash, investment and asset management.
  • Oversee financing strategies and banking relationships


IPO Preparation and post listing responsibilities


  • Assist the CEO to prepare for the IPO
  • Coordinate with the issue manager, underwriter, lawyers, accounting and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure compliance with the capital market authority regulations.
  • Ensure disclosure requirements and IR requirements
  • Manage distribution of director's remuneration, dividends, issue of bonus shares, etc.


 


Audit, Accounting & Taxation


  • Oversee Accounting function to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions, consolidation cost control & timely MIS reports

  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

  • Ensure adherence to statutory compliance coordinate audits and accurate filing of tax returns

  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance regarding all financial functions

  • Efficient relating with auditors for audit, clarifications relating with Board of Directors/ Audit Committee and executive committee


 


MIS & other reporting


  • MIS and Financial Risk Reporting

  • Credit Control /Receivable Management

  • CMA Regulatory Submissions and Compliance support

  • Global and Regional Reporting

  • Fund based accounting.

     

    Team Leadership


  • Mentor and develop a direct team, managing work allocation, staff training, problem solving performance management and building of a strong team

  • Conduct periodical analysis with vertical heads, Budget & expenditure group, Finance & Accounting review

  • Corporate Governance issues, matters related to Board of Directors and compliance of regulatory provisions

  • Strategic and planning review
