Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for design and development phase. This will also include supporting product designers to develop and execute design verification and validation test plans, failure analysis for new or modified products ensuring compliance to customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will be working for the global delivery centre.
  • Discussing with Global team and developing technology strategy development.
  • Finalizing the PTC system and HVAC parts selection and statements of requirements.
  • Interacting with CAE and CFD team for finalizing HVAC /PTC system concept design.
  • Conducting technical reviews and technical capabilities study with suppliers for finalizing the sourcing strategy.
  • Conducting static and dynamic competitor benchmarking and setting vehicle performance targets.
  • Approving 3D cad data, 2D drawings, Part level and vehicle level validation reports.
  • Achieving thermal team cost reduction targets.
  • Integrating PTC and HVAC parts to meeting Defrost , demist and top tank temp and cool down performance targets.
  • Conducting technical planning, scheduling, and delivery and providing managerial leadership in executing GM's Vehicle Program.
  • Recruiting, training, developing, motivating and evaluating new employees.
  • Developing test facilities and Managing capital Budgets for thermal team
  • Discussing with Global team and developing technology strategy development.
  • Improving processes through continuous development.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • BE with 12-18 years of experience is required.
  • Extensive experience in working with thermal systems related to Powertrain.
  • Expertise in simulation required.
  • Knowledge in simulation tools (CAE/CFD) such as Ansys, hypermesh, Nastran is required.
  • Will be leading a CAE team of 15-20 members, hence should have very good skills in man-management.
  • Good negotiation skills required, since he will be working for the global delivery centre.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • BE (Mechanical Engineering) with 10 to 16 yrs of experience in design and development of Automotive HVAC and Engine cooling (Powertrain cooling) systems.
