1.1 Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facilitys geographic location and:

ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management system standard;
TS 16949 Technical Specification Management and Organisation"s Quality Basics system standards.
1.2 Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Organization's Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
1.3 Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to company's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
1.4 Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
Maintain department 5S requirements.
1.5 Conduct health and safety audits; both compliance and program based.
1.6 Prepare comprehensive written reports with clear findings and recommendations.
1.7 Monitor, measure, and report on environmental health and safety performance.
1.8 Act as an environmental health and safety resource to the Groups and facilities.
1.9 Review current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act/Regulations and other relevant workplace legislation.
110 Carries out health and safety objectives and programs within the facility.
1.11 Develop, implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures of the facility.
1.12 Serve as a resource and provide guidance and assistance to the Joint Health and Safety Committee at the facility.
1.13 Provide safety training to all managers/supervisors, employees, and Joint Health and Safety Committee, regarding their duties responsibilities; health safety and the law, incident investigations, hazard identification, workplace inspection and promotion of safety awareness.
1.14 Ensure health and safety orientation/job specific training for all new employees, transferred employees and/or promoted employees is conducted.
1.15 Review Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and update and implement procedures and practices, and ensure training is conducted in a timely manner.
1.16 Review safety statistics, conduct trend analysis and make recommendations for continual improvements.
1.17 Review illnesses and injuries both occupational and non-occupational with the health nurse and the company physician to ensure lost time is minimized.
1.18 Review the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) and Worker Insurance (WI) claims to make recommendations to minimize time of work and maximize the safe return to work program.
1.19 Conduct as required workplace inspections, facility audits and provide a corrective/prevention action plan complete with responsibilities and timelines
