Job Description

Job Role and Responsibilities

Own the delivery for a subset of the systems in the overall system architecture.
Collaborate closely with other senior leaders from Engineering and Product Management function to chalk out the roadmap for technology platform evolution.
Manage a team of Engineering & IT Managers and Architects and oversee the releases through architecture, design, development and testing cycles.
Contribute significantly in design and architectural reviews across teams towards building robust subsystem integration and a scalable platform.
Own the quality of delivery and bring in efficiencies in time-to-market cycles by leveraging CI and automated testing infrastructure.
Own the improvements in subsystem uptime and performance metrics, by using the right monitoring and alerting tools in production environment.
Mentor team members, carry out performance management, and manage their career progression, hiring and team building activities.
Oversee and control the budgets for IT, Hosting and other System infrastructure.
Ensure compliance to standards and policies across the organization.
Work with business/function and geography heads and stakeholders in resolving critical issues impacting business.

Position Requirements

Candidate shall have a Masters Degree in Engineering- MS, Mtech from a top-tier university with an undergraduate degree in engineering from a top-tier university.

Knowledge & Experience

Candidate shall have at least 10-12 years of experience in leading engineering and product development teams in small and medium-sized enterprises with emerging technologies.
Must have experience in developing and executing business and product strategies & policies.
10+ years experience with at least 3 years experience managing small teams.
Familiar with more than one software development methodologies implemented in a fast paced business environment.
Has contributed to one or more open source projects.
Prior experience on one or more of the following tech stacks: Java/JEE, Tomcat, Web services, REST APIs, JMS/Messaging, Spring, Hibernate, Drools Web, HTML5, CSS, JQuery/AngularJS/Bootstrap.js, AJAX,
Responsive Web Design Mobile Apps (iOS, Android, Windows) Very Good understanding of OOPS concepts and Design & EAI patterns Experience with employee development, performance management and delivering results.
Excellent ability to solve complex problems, analyze quantitatively and to prioritize effectively and strong bias towards action.

Nice to have:

Experience with Hadoop/ MapReduce & other Big Data tech stack.
Experience with managing server infrastructure in cloud/hybrid environment.
Experience at customer facing organizations in E-commerce/Travel/Internet domain.
Personal Attributes Proven leadership ability.
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
