Job Description

Business Division and Corporate Center Support -
Mitigating accounting risk by providing proactive advice to Business Division and Corporate Center functions regarding accounting and financial reporting implications of new business initiatives and other transactions requiring pre-approval, and in particular accounting sensitive transactions.
Decision-making support to the CFO and Regional/Country/Business Division Controllers when management is required to exercise judgment under the relevant accounting standards.
Partnering with Front Office teams by providing accounting guidance in the product development process while continuing to perform our primary financial control function.
Disseminating GTA analyses and conclusions on complex transactions and technical accounting topics to improve and augment technical competence.
Partnering with Human Resources and the Finance Compensation Team to provide front-to-back support on the design, development and implementation of new or amended deferred compensation plans and benefit schemes.
Accounting Policies -
Developing and maintaining a clear, concise and comprehensive accounting policy framework, including the Financial Accounting Policies (FAPs) and Management Accounting Policies (MAPs), that complies with accounting standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Interpreting new accounting standards and other relevant guidance and facilitating the successful adoption and implementation of that guidance.Financial Reporting -
Reviewing the quarterly and annual reports of company's Group and assessing, from a technical perspective, whether disclosures are accurate, clear, complete and consistent throughout.
Providing technical advice to GAC on specific disclosure requirements.
Preparing the disclosure note on significant accounting policies of company and any changes thereto for the annual and quarterly reports.
Training -
Delivering multi-format training to Finance personnel to increase levels of technical accounting expertise and communicate pending accounting changes and developments, thus empowering Finance to become more effective strategic partners to the business and controllers of the business
