Background, skills, experience and qualifications
Minimum 5+ years' experience in Oracle Applications database administration on enterprise level platforms running on Solaris and Linux
Extensive hand-on Oracle Applications database administration experience on 11gR2 databases; RAC; Oracle eBiz R12 and R11i ; Oracle Middleware 10g & 11g; Oracle eBiz under RAC;Data guard; SSO Integration; Oracle Streams; BI Publisher; Load Balancing and SSL; RMAN and Hot Backup; OEM 12c; AWR/ASH/ADDM; HP ITG PPM
Good Understanding of Unix, Linux, Storage &Networking; NAS Snaps and EMC BCV
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Good knowledge on Shell scripting. Perl scripting would be added advantage.
Understands, explains and presents complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

Installation, Configuration, Administration and Maintenance of Oracle Applications Databases, eBusiness suite and Middleware technologies under variety of configurations such as RAC, Shared/Normal ApplTop, OATM, RMAN, Data guard, Oracle Streams and PCP etc
7x24 On-Call for Production Critical problems
Provide support over weekends for planned activities.
Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and problem diagnosis
Design & Implementation of Database Solutions to support Standard & Custom Oracle ERP and Middleware Applications
Implement, enforce and adhere to Disaster and Recovery plan for platforms. Failover and Failback of live production systems between Primary and Secondary sites
Work closely with Unix, Networking, Storage and other support teams for monitoring, problem troubleshooting, space allocation & capacity planning for Oracle environments
Assist Software Configuration Management /Development teams with troubleshooting Application Patches & PE (productivity enablers) Issues.
Assist with SOX compliance, Database and Applications security scans and their remediation.
Monitor, Enforce and Maintain Database Constraints to ensure integrity of the Databases.
Implement and Enforce Security for Oracle Environments.
Single node & Multi Node cloning of Oracle Apps Instances in Normal and Shared Appltop Architecture; RAC to Non-RAC conversion in ebusiness setup
Patching / Upgrade of Oracle Database and Technical Configuration of Oracle e-Business suite and Middleware.
Monitor & Troubleshoot Database & Application Performance Issues using standard Oracle tools and 3rd party S/Ws.
Troubleshooting problems with Concurrent Managers, Apache, Forms Listener, Jserv processes, Middleware and Databases.
Perform Workflow Notification Mailer Configuration and Troubleshooting.
Perform SSO Configuration & Troubleshooting related to Oracle Apps.
Assist Development Teams with Appropriate sizing of Tables and Indexes.
Impact, Analysis and Implementation of CPU/PSU patches on Database/Technology Stack.
Manage Oracle SRs and Cases with Oracle and 3rd Party S/W vendors
Update DBA Process documents.
Update documents (DBA Run book, Cloning, Installations, Upgrades, Issues/Resolutions etc.).
Define new work shifts; Include / Exclude specialization rules; Analyze & Modify target processes
Monitor and troubleshoot Concurrent Manager Problems, Performance, Errors etc.,
Analyze CCM job performance pre/post release implementations.
Perl, Shell, Sql& PL/Sql scripting for Alerts, Monitoring, Reporting & Auditing etc.
Dry Runs and Production Implementation Activities & Burn-In Support
Prepare and upload weekly database and application job stats (performance and errors)
