The incumbent will be required to assist in developing and implementing robust CP strategies, tactics and contract documentation to secure third party services and materials in compliance with schedule, quality requirements, and on best commercial terms. The contracts awarded will also be required to fully complement the project's local content plan and account for market capacity, capability, risks, and opportunities.In addition, the incumbent will be required to work within a team of Contracts Engineers and Contracts Assistants in the provision of contracting and procurement services, reporting to the Project CP Lead for the lifetime of the project.The incumbent may be required to manage the commercial delivery of all major contracts awarded by developing comprehensive post award contract management plans and ensuring that all variation requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
Additional activities included as a part of this role include:-
Manage and administer a portfolio of contracts.
- Structure and manage contracts and agreements in a proactive manner with the objective of minimizing claims and disputes
.- Provide/identify for each project the CP requirements for Assess and Select phases
- Build /develop framework for working closely with Project Managers from early inception stage of projects to deliver robust accurate estimates with the required accuracy
- Ensure a structured approach to developing and delivering CP requirements for the Pre-DG3 phase of projects- Develop transition/handover plan from Pre-DG3 to the FEED and subsequent project phases- Provide assistance to Project Managers and Project Directors to compile estimates for engineering activities, installation, and construction work
- Assist Project Managers and Project Directors with dealings with local authorities to secure approvals in early stage of project
