Job Description

Our Client is one of the oldest and largest single passenger transport Company in East Africa with a fleet size currently standing at over 250 passenger commuter buses, the Company currently operates from four depots in the city of Dar Es Salaam .They are looking for one of the Senior position for their Company.

Position : Chief Operating Officer -COO

Role and Responsibilities:


The main purpose of this job is to support and complement the CEO; reporting to the Chief Executive and the Board of Directors, the Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for supporting the CEO in developing, executing and managing the Company's activities with a particular emphasis on the day to day profitable operations, planning of the business, The COO will establish, in close partnership with the CEO, metrics to manage key elements of the company's operational performance required to meet both customer and financial expectations.


Plans, directs and evaluates the operation of all functions of the Transportation and Maintenance Division.
Establish and monitor performance-reporting systems (i.e. track performance against goals, ensure workshop and depot managers provide quality regular reports, and provide regular updates to the CEO and the CFO.
Regularly evaluate operating procedures and create centralized best practices within different depots to ensure uniform performance throughout the company.

Job Requirements :

Successful experience in managing large passenger transport operations, large fleet management, strategic planning.
Proven track record (at least 7 years of experience), with three years in a leadership position with experience in general management in a passenger transport operation, fleet management, workshop management and/or budgetary oversight. .
Fluency in English. Working knowledge of budgeting, business development, and strategic planning.
Multi-site management experience in the fleet management and passenger transport service skills a key to this job.

Qualification : The post will have to be filled by reputable individuals having degree holder /MBA and must have senior/executive working experience at a successful BRT institution or a mass passenger transport Company.
