Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities / Duties to be Performed:

Project Management:

Handling project activities involving working out various requirements with respect to utilities, equipments, manpower & monitoring overall project operations for ensuring timely completion.

Plant Operations: Coordinating plant activities for the set up standards with accountability for strategic utilization & deployment of available resources to achieve organizational objectives. Preparing manuals & work instructions for operations for the unit and maintaining reports for facilitating decision making by the management.

Operation :

Experience in large Integrated Steel Plant / Alloys Steel Plant / Blast Furnace / SMS / CCM / Bar Rolling Mill /Coke Oven / Sinter /Pelletization/Power Plants

Developing production plans & schedules, arranging for resources to ensure achievement of organizational targets as per budgeted parameters. Mentoring subordinates and ensuring amicable employee relations on the shop floor.

Maintenance:

Managing the functions of condition based preventive/breakdown maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic machines, utilities to reduce downtime to minimum. Conducting regular inspections to prevent accidents and adhere to safety norms.

Vendor Development: Developing long-term partnerships with local & foreign suppliers; managing day-to-day supplier performance of vendors to ensure meeting of service, cost, delivery and quality norms. Consistently evaluating vendor performance to ensure adherence to predefined specifications and supply of quality material / execution of job works.

Product Development:

Understanding overall operations for improvement of existing products, undertaking cost analysis, design analysis & product study. Co-ordinating product development / customization functions including requirement analysis, finalizing specifications, designing, prototype development and testing activities.

Quality Assurance:

Monitoring adherence to quality systems and comply with ISO/ FMEA/ 5 'S '/ TPM quality standards and maintaining requisite documents. Implementing quality systems / procedures in the organization to reduce rejections and ensure zero defect products.

Cost Estimation: Conducting cost benefit analysis of the projects including feasibility studies, assessment of the requirements, adaptation, interface, testing and commissioning.

New Set Ups:

Preparing budgets as well as developing plans for the achievement of these goals. Establishing new set ups/projects thereby bringing profitability to the company. Spearheading various continuous improvement initiatives in processes. Implementing management systems in the organization & ensuring compliance with the process requirements.

Team Management:

Directing, leading & motivating workforce and imparting continuous on job training for accomplishing greater operational effectiveness / efficiency.
