Responsibilities and Authorities:
Plan, organize and direct all activities of discipline engineering work on the assigned project.
Responsible for man power planning and allocation and man hour control within the discipline project task force.
Prepare/update document deliverable list and weightage for each document as per the approved CTR to enable progress measurement.
Review and provide comments on the project schedule for the discipline deliverables and activities.
Responsible for adherence to project schedule, IDC cycle time period and document review cycle time period (for Vendor document as well) as indicated in the project execution plan.
Review of engineering documents like calculations, specifications, philosophies, datasheets and drawings to ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity.
Responsible for all discipline activities and deliverables for the Project.
Familiarize with the project scope of work, specifications and requirements of other discipline.
Be the focal point for the project engineering activities for the discipline from design stage till the completion of the project.
Responsible for co-ordination with other department / discipline to identify the correct interfaces and provide / obtain necessary to progress the job smoothly.
Provide inputs to other disciplines and review other discipline inputs for interfaces.
Provide necessary inputs to Project management to complete the IDC matrix.
Attend Project review meetings, project co-ordination meeting and all other technical reviews for which discipline assistance or input is required (Piping 3D model review etc.).
Responsible to keep the Engineering Manager (Project Management) and the Discipline Manager appraised about the areas of concern in the project (like interface issues, performance guarantees, etc.)
Capture scope change and submit claims as and when required.
Attend customer meetings as required and respond to customer queries.
Responsible for obtaining the necessary clarification and missing information from customer.
Responsible for reviewing vendor documentation as per the requirement of the package or the equipment and ensure that technical / functional compliance is met.
Participate in vendor clarification meetings as and when required.
Provide field support during commissioning.
To promote awareness and implement QMS within the project and implement necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions.
Promote Quality Control throughout the project ensuring that their team works with the Quality Management System and participate in regular quality audits.
Demonstrates willingness and ability to focus on the delivery of results and respond according to needs in order to provide the best quality service to customer.
Keep continual improvement as a goal and address Lessons Learnt on the project for better performance on future projects.
Review of Pipe wall thickness calculations.
Review of Piping Material specifications, Valve specifications, Special item list etc..
Review of Piping stress analysis, calculations, and report.
Review of Equipment layout, piping layout, MTOs, supports etc.
Review of Pressure drop calculations.
Review of Vendor drawing.
Review of piping specifications in accordance with the company standards and general codes.
